"WDPK 83.7 FM" is the second track by Daft Punk, from their debut album Homework Its length is 0:28, making it the shortest song from the album.
Composition
Structure
The track contains elements from the song "Da Funk" and lyrics from "Musique". The track firstly repeats the French term "Musique" (which translates to "music" in English) 9 times, whereafter it fades out slightly to form the backing track following a voice which reads: WDPK 83.7 The sound of tomorrow, the music of today, brings you exclusively Daft Punk's Homework.[1] The track later fades out as "Revolution 909" starts. The lyrics are supposedly performed by Thomas Bangalter.
Aside from sampling their own sowng, it also samples "Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll" by Vaughn Mason & Crew. [2]
Title
It is thought that the title may contain a wordplay that makes a reference to either Daft Punk and the album Homework itself. The insignias DP are the first letter of each of the words that form the band’s name, Daft Punk; while the W and K may be one of the last four letter of the sentence "homework", which in the song title, the O and the R are replaced with the letters D and P.
